Worship Bulletin
for: Sunday; June 15, 2025

Welcome; we are very glad you are here.
Thought for the Day
1 Samuel 15:22, "And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."
Do you ever treat your relationship with God like a business transaction?
In President Kennedy's famous inaugural address, he challenged Americans with the words, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." That statement mirrors a profound spiritual truth. Sometimes we approach our relationship with God as a formula: Sunday worship, plus a tithe check, plus occasional good deeds, equals God's favor and blessings from heaven’s gracious bank account.
The writer of first Samuel shatters this equation. God does not need your burnt offerings or sacrifices. He is not collecting animal carcasses in the Old Testament for His benefit. He is teaching His people obedience through these actions.
Everything God asks you to do, including your worship, service, time, and devotion, isn't for His sake but yours. He lacks nothing and needs nothing from you. The truth is that when you obey Him, you're not adding to His greatness, you’re participating in your own transformation.
God gives you faith to know Him, prepares good works for you, and equips you with talents to accomplish them, all to shape you into the person He has created you to be. Your obedience isn't payment; it's participation in His divine purpose for your life.
Father’s Day:
In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. Today we celebrate the influence of Godly fathers in our homes and the church.
Potluck Lunch:
Next week is the fourth Sunday of the month and the time to have our monthly celebration. Invite all your friends and family to come and worship with us and stay after the service for a great meal and fellowship.
For Music Lovers:
None of The Beatles could actually read music. However, George Harrison could reportedly play 26 instruments. Most department stores tend to play slower music, in order to slow down customers and keep them shopping longer. The opposite is true for restaurants.

"Verse of the Month" Contest.
Can you find our verse of the month? Every week, we will reveal a word or a phrase that is a part of one special verse in the Bible (KJV or NKJV). Those who find all the clues and guess the correct verse will receive a gift. But every person will have only one guess, and your wrong guess will disqualify you; so wait until you get more clues and you are absolutely sure.
We appreciate all of you who spend time in God's Word.
The third clue for the month of May is: "with." There are five clues for this month's verse. (when you are sure, send your answers to gmbc1610@gmail.com)
